As families outgrow their surroundings there may come a time to make the decision to move into a larger home or simply add a home addition to their existing house. More and more families who have the room on their residential property to build an addition are choosing to stay. Here we show a New Addition for one of your Baton Rouge Neighbors. This addition serves as a Custom Home Build too. The new construction building consisted of a first floor storage room to replace the old building along with a second story living space. The access stairs were built out of pressure treated lumber and accented with copper caps on the posts. Upon walking in, you first see the space including the view from the peninsula counter into the living room.
Another angle of the front living area shows the transition into the kitchen. LED recess lighting and ceiling fans were used throughout the living areas.
The kitchen was furnished with stainless steel appliances and including quartz countertops with white shaker cabinets throughout. The bedroom was fitted with a combination of both a standard white vinyl window for a full view of the main street while also having a white transom window. This allows both light inside the room as well as privacy to that side of the building. And the bathroom was completed by installing matching white shaker cabinets, a white quartz counter top and chrome faucets and cabinet hardware.
As a free standing living space, we also had this laundry room completed by installing matching white shaker cabinets and white appliances.
Now we go outside to the back of the building which shows a nice covered parking area. All of the support posts were smooth pre-engineered treated lumber which were then painted.
It is hard to image what this looked like before ZITRO arrived.
But we much rather leave you with the back of the new building, designed with an open concept for lounging. Faux shutters and transom windows were used to improve the look as well as allow light into the living space without invading the privacy of neighbors.
