Here we show a New Addition for more living space in Baton Rouge.  We took an existing carport and garage to create this New Carport too.

Inspiration for New Addition

This newly remodeled living area was originally an open carport. The space was completed by pouring a concrete topper and enclosing the exterior walls. Large slider windows were installed for natural light. A glue down hardwood flooring was used to finish everything off.

The full bath was created out of the original storage area. The new space includes a custom stand-up shower with vertically installed Artisan White wall tile. A warm Willow 30″ vanity is topped with a morning frost quartz counter that brought everything together.

This bedroom was completed utilizing part of the existing storage and adding some square footage on the house. 6-foot windows were used for natural lighting while a 4-panel double door accents the large bedroom closet.

How We Built This Addition

Here we see the original driveway and open carport which would be transformed into a living space and new parking area.   The backside of the open carport gives another view of the planned new living area.  The rear area is the location where the foundation and addition of the new storage area would eventually be.

Here the new driveway is complete and the addition is being framed up, followed by the new carport framed up and ready for finishes.

The windows and the vapor barrier are in place and the building is ready from brick soon.

Here are the interior rooms before the finishes which will become the living room, bedroom and bathroom.

Additional Living Space is welcoming

The new living space was created out of the original carport. A 6-inch glue down hardwood flooring was installed. Large 6-foot slider windows were used to maximize the natural light.

This features the 8×8 cypress posts which were stained with a natural finish. A white gutter system complete with leaf guards was installed to complete the work.

The new carport offers two-car parking a new concrete driveway for smooth access.
